A late September Saturday in Leeds, a sunny day, and a reasonable start to the season for the clubs Canoe polo B team in this season National Div 2 North. With a third place last season the B team started hopeful of top four this season, the team packed with over 100yrs of playing experience (old farts), started with an outside tournament at Roundhay lake, Leeds. The first game against last year’s runners up FOA x was a narrow and frustrating defeat 3-2, thrown away with some basic handling errors, possibly due to lack of flexibility. The following games a draw against local rivals White Rose 3-3, close 7-6 defeat to the FOA y team containing 4 former GB world & European Champions and Finally a three goal victory against newly promoted Team Scotie. Over all not a bad day out, more importantly it was not too cold to cause problems with player’s arthritis.
